Page numbers are permanently drawn on each page (not a removable layer).
Add Page Numbers stamps a page-number label onto every page of your PDF. You control the position (bottom or top, left/center/right), the format (e.g. "1", "1 of N", "Page 1", "Page 1 of N"), the starting number, font size, and margin. The numbers are permanently embedded in the PDF. The process runs locally in your browser — your file is never uploaded.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Can I start numbering from a number other than 1?
Yes. Set "Starting number" to any value. This is useful when your PDF is the second part of a larger document and should continue the numbering.
Can I number only specific pages?
Yes. Use the "Page range" field with 1-based page numbers (e.g. "2,4,6-10"). Pages outside the range are left unchanged.
Are the page numbers removable?
No. The numbers are permanently drawn onto each page. They are not a separate layer that can be toggled off. If you need a removable version, keep a copy of the original PDF.
What does "1 of N" mean?
N is the total page count of the document. For a 10-page PDF, page 3 shows "3 of 10". The total is always the actual page count, regardless of the starting number.
What font and size are used?
The standard Helvetica font at the size you choose (default 12 points). Custom font embedding is not supported in this version.
